The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

Aesop’s fable·~150 words·~1 min read

A wolf hides in a sheepskin, and his trick traps him.

A wolf wanted to catch a fat sheep, but the shepherd watched his flock all day. So the wolf made a plan.

He found an old sheepskin and put it on his back. Now he looked like a sheep. In the evening he walked quietly into the field and stood with the flock. The shepherd did not see him.

That night the flock was shut in a pen to sleep. The wolf was very pleased with his clever plan.

But the shepherd wanted meat for his supper. He came to the pen, chose the first "sheep" he touched, and it was the wolf. So the wolf was caught by his own trick.

Moral: A clever trick can turn against you.
